Stevens Point Native Will Hold Book Signing At Library
Stevens Point native Michael Kirsch will hold a book signing at 5:30 pm. Monday, Aug. 15, in the Pinery Room of the Portage County Public Library, downtown Stevens Point. The event is free and open to the public.
Kirsch will discuss his new publication, “The Challenge of Credit Supply: American Problems and Solutions 1650-1950,” an examination of U.S. economic history, with a question-and-answer session and book signing to follow.
Kirsch’s interest in economic development and infrastructure investment led him towards an in-depth treatment of the financial system’s ability to facilitate development throughout history. This research is laid out in “The Challenge of Credit Supply.”
With the use of primary sources, period literature and quotations, the content is accessible for general audiences and those new to the topic, while presenting new and interesting information for the academic or economist.
The discussion following the evolution of 300 years of U.S. economic history also will include how that history applies to modern economics. Books will be available for purchase and signing. . . .
